There are hundreds of unaffiliated Jews in the greater Mill Basin section of Brooklyn who have very little knowledge of Judaism. In an effort to address this tragedy, Rabbi Eli Moskovitz, together with Rabbi Yisroel Perelson—Rabbi of the Flatbush Park Jewish Center—has spearheaded an initiative where Jews come together to learn more about the relevance and beauty of Judaism and how to integrate it into their lives.
What began as a single weekly class five years ago at the Flatbush Park Jewish Center has grown into a flourishing network of learning opportunities. Today, hundreds of individuals participate in Torah learning through our various programs.
Weekly classes for men and women in topics such as Jewish philosophy, Parsha, beginner Talmud, Halacha, marriage, and feminism through a Torah lens.
All classes are designed to be accessible and relevant across backgrounds and levels of knowledge.
1-on-1 learning is also available for personalized growth and connection.
For participants with a background in Torah study, advanced classes offer the opportunity to strengthen skills and explore topics in greater depth.
Programs are designed to challenge and support continued growth in areas such as Talmud, Halacha, Jewish philosophy, and more.
Weekly classes cover Jewish philosophy, Parsha, Talmud, Halacha, and other core topics, tailored to the interests and stage of life of college students and young professionals.
Programs include Shabbatons that offer a full Shabbos experience in a warm and welcoming environment.
Participants also have access to 1-on-1 learning and personalized guidance in areas such as dating and relationships.
Teen Girls
In partnership with Batya Kiruv Organization, we offer weekly programming designed to inspire and connect teen girls through a positive Jewish experience.
The program includes Shabbatons, trips, and ongoing mentorship that builds strong relationships and personal growth.
Teen Boys
Weekly classes in Jewish concepts and ongoing mentorship help teen boys grow in their learning and personal development.
They also enjoy Shabbatons upstate and a fun Basketball and Torah program.
We host Shabbatons in Monsey for all divisions, including Sinai Academy.
Rabbi Moskovitz hosts large Shabbos meals in Mill Basin, where families come together to share an authentic Friday night experience.
Large Friday night dinners are held in the shul, accommodating up to 90 guests.
Starting in September!
Weekly after-school programs designed to introduce children to Jewish learning and values.
We also support camp recruitment for Jewish Kiruv camps to provide meaningful summer experiences.
Rabbi Moskovitz prepares the boys for their Aliyah and Torah reading, guiding them to understand their responsibilities as Jewish adults through this meaningful milestone.
This program serves both public school students and boys in Kiruv schools.
Most boys continue attending classes well beyond their Bar Mitzvah.
The Mill Basin Torah Connection was founded in memory of Rabbi Akiva Shamai Ehrenpreis Z"L (Kivi), a budding Torah scholar who, despite his youth, managed to touch the lives of so many—inspiring them to increase their connection to Torah study.
After his untimely passing, his mother, Mrs. Ahava Ehrenpreis, chose to perpetuate his memory through the creation of Torah learning opportunities.
The Mill Basin Torah Connection has grown to personify everything that Kivi stood for.
More recently, with the passing of Kivi’s brother Saadya, a young man with special needs who captured the hearts of all who knew him, the Mill Basin Torah Connection expanded its programming to include classes and activities for teens—Saadya’s Teens.
